About Hebron

What it's like to live here

Hebron is a Tolland County town of about 9,200 people covering about 37 square miles southeast of Hartford. Hebron Center sits at the junction of Routes 66 and 85, and Route 66 connects to Route 2, so downtown Hartford is about 30 minutes away. Beyond the center, the town is rural, with wooded back roads, state park land and the Air Line Trail.

Hebron was settled in 1704 and incorporated in 1708, and it has been part of Tolland County since 1785. Its center is on the National Register as the Hebron Center Historic District, with about 60 historic buildings around the Hebron Green and Douglas Library. The remains of two long-abandoned communities, Grayville and Gay City, sit in the woods, and Gay City's mill-village foundations are now part of Gay City State Park. Governor John Samuel Peters and inventor Samuel Morey both came from Hebron.

Our Colchester office at 392 South Main Street is about 15 minutes south, and our East Hampton headquarters at 40 West High Street is a short drive west. Our agents live and sell here.
